Beyond Basics: Whole Body Biomechanics of Pelvic Floor Function

Learn my Restoring Resilience Method:

  1. Restore: Restore length/tension of pelvic floor
We use biomechanical principles at the pelvis, ribcage, and lower extremity to restore the length-tension relationship of the PFM. A pelvic floor at an optimal length can participate in the whole-body system again, which sets the stage for automatic, reflexive function.
  2. Reciprocate: Integrate reciprocal motion
We train the pelvic floor quadrants to work reciprocally through single-limb, alternating, and rotational movements.
  3. Resilience: Build capacity and resilience
Once the system is restored and reciprocating, we build capacity through load, endurance, and higher-level movement so the pelvic floor holds up under the demands of life and sport.
